365 Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge Project #1

Paper Lantern

I made this cute paper lantern by working with the Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge from Close to My Heart and two shapes from George and Basic Shapes. I welded the shapes together with my Gypsy to create each side of the lantern. Before I attached the sides together I attached the vellum in the back side of each side. After that I was finally able to attach the sides together.

For those of you who are interested in making this cute lantern, have the Art Philosophy cartridge and have a gypsy or cricut design studio software, send me an email at Mandybydesign@yahoo.com and I will send you the files. I would love to see photos of the lanterns you make.

If you are interested in purchasing the Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge please visit my Close to My Heart website at:

  2. Thank you so much! I had a lot of fun making it! Ever since I saw the new Cricut commercial and the paper lanterns they made I wanted to make one. Once I got my Art Philosophy cartridge I decided to make one. I cannot say enough about that cartridge....I just love it!

  3. Just ordered the Art Philosophy cartridge through your CTMH site. I've been thinking about it for a long time and just recently started looking for a CTMH representative. There were too many to choose from, so when I saw your post in Creating with Art Philosophy, then jumped over to your blog, saw this beautiful lantern, I decided that I would order from you. This is really a very pretty lantern - one of the prettiest ones I've seen.

  4. awww Melanie you are such a sweetheart!!! I got my Expression 2 as a "Happy Graduation" present to myself after 7 years in college and 4 college degrees (It was a tough 7 years). In the days after I bought it I kept seeing that new commercial with all the projects you can make with the expression 2 and I saw the lanterns. I immediately wanted to figure out a unique lantern I could make. I am a HUGE fan of Art Philosophy and am going to start a big project here on my blog. I am thinking it will be something like "365 Projects with Art Philosophy". I think it would be a lot of fun! By the way do you have a Gypsy? If so I will email you my design file for my paper lantern and then you can make it too :)
